Course Information

Electrolysis is a treatment that permanently removes unwanted hair. It involves inserting a fine needle into a hair follicle to destroy the hair root and this eventually destroys the tissue in the follicle, preventing the hair from regrowing. This course focuses on a type of electrolysis called short wave diathermy.

 

Course Content
Causes of hair growth, the endocrine system, electrical science, sterilisation and disinfection, how to perform an electrolysis consultation, contra-indications, possible contra actions, how to perform electrolysis on different areas, aftercare, how to manage regrowth, relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety.

 

Who can study this course?
This course is open to those who hold an NVQ level 2 in Beauty Therapy or equivalent.
